Hi, my name is David Knape, and I’m starting yet another blog in order to share my thoughts on Flash development and related topics. I am a programmer, not an animator or timeline tweener, so you will see more code here than anything else.

I’ve been working with the web since 1995, and I have extensive experience with PHP, MySQL, Linux, and things of that sort. In 2004, I went to work as a Flash programmer at Second Story here in Portland where I worked until April of 2006.

I’ve always been a fan of the open source movement, and now that I’m working for myself, I’ve finally found time to give a little back to the community. My Bumpslide ActionScript Library is the package of AS2 classes that I use on a daily basis. The project is currently hosted on SourceForge and is released under the MIT License. In the coming weeks, I plan to use this blog to build up some documentation and tutorials related to this code.
